Dr. Flanzenbaum attended Binghamton University / State University of New York for his Bachelor of Science degree in Biology. He received his medical degree from the University at Buffalo School of Medicine (SUNY) where is was awarded the Upjohn Achievement award for Excellence in Research. He completed a combined Internal Medicine / Pediatrics internship and residency at the Medical College of Virginia Hospitals and is Board Certified in Pediatrics. He had practiced pediatric and adult emergency medicine for 14 years prior to co-founding KidMed in February 2009. He is a Fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics ,a member of the Richmond Pediatric Society, and a member of the Society for Pediatric Urgent Care. He holds an academic appointment as Assistant Clinical Professor in the Department of Pediatrics, VCU Health Systems. He was recognized as a “Top Doc” in Pediatric Emergency Medicine by Richmond Magazine in 2013. Dr. Flanzenbaum lives in Glen Allen with his wife and four children.
